On March 23, 2015, I was the featured guest on a local (Mountain View) cable access show called Silicon Valley Business (SVB). We taped the 30-minute show at the KMVT TV studio where we talked about my business (Bella Domain Media), the services I provide and the challenges I’ve encountered over the past 13 years. The show aired for a month on Comcast 15.
I’m certain I was invited to appear on the show not because I live in or have a Valley-based business, but because I’ve developed a professional connection to someone awesome I met last fall and now consider a friend. The host of SVB is Oscar Garcia, the current CEO of the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce.
Oscar and I have LinkedIn to thank for cultivating our connection since I met Oscar when he reached out to me via LinkedIn (after he received a short list from LinkedIn) to discuss whether I was interested in being a speaker at the Linkedin Live event he and the Chamber were co-hosting with LinkedIn in Sunnyvale, CA last November. (Of course, I was and did!)
I explain all of the above because it highlights the positive outcomes that can come from two of my favorite platforms: networking and LinkedIn. Check out the video clip below to learn a bit about how Bella Domain Media came to be and hear some tips and advice on building your own brand and platform as a solo entrepreneur or small business owner.
You can also view the entire interview by clicking on the SVB image, or feel free to check out the bite-sized clips on various pages on BellaDomainMedia.com the next time you visit my site.
Hope some of what I share with Oscar proves helpful to you and your biz!
