If you’re looking for work (and even if you are not), something good to do with some of your free time is to do good for others. I highly recommend signing up for email alerts from VolunteerMatch.org so that you can stay on top of organizations in need within your geographic area. Here’s an example of an opp I’m considering:

The site is pretty self explanatory, but one of the big reasons I reco it is because you can set up email alerts for the type of volunteer work you want to do (hands-on, board participation, etc) as well as for the categories that resonate with you (environment, seniors, etc).
